Cuba Blues Tour

Two photos from my recent (July 2107) “Blues Tour” of Cuba – Santa Clara, Havana and Sancti Spiritus with the bands Bluespirit and Cadillac One. I played 5 shows in three cities in 12 days plus rehearsals, jams and interviews. These photos are from the concert at Mejunje in Santa Clara. Lovely theatre space where I was lucky to inherit the stage dressing from Roly Barrio’s show. I love that I was called a Cultivator of the Blues. That is the best formulation of what I do!

Two shows with Mr. Rick

I am very pleased to collaborating with Mr. Rick this month – we will be playing twice. Here’s his poster. Expect blues, ragtime and tin pan alley. Will be good! Scott Hunter will be on the big string bass for December 29th at Fat City Blues.

DECEMBER 5, 2015

The versatile ROBERT DAVIS, (vocals, guitar and harmonica) a veteran Country, Delta, and Chicago Blues player crossed roads with the youthful and explosive FRASER MELVIN (guitar & vox) a couple of years back and they’ve been performing regularly ever since on the Toronto scene. Joining them for this show on acoustic bass and rounding out the trio is CONRAD GOOD.

BILL HEFFERNAN will be on hand as performing host and will lay down a couple of numbers with the boys. This promises to be a great afternoon of Blues–hope to see you there!

Davis and Melvin a bluesy collision!

“When Robert Davis and Fraser Melvin get together the best of country blues and hard edged contemporary blues collide to produce exemplary examples of some of the finest blues in Toronto! Come and see them April 11th at the Saturday Sessions, 5pm-8pm at Gate 403 ( 403 Roncesvalles Ave ).” – Bill Heffernan, host of Saturday Sessions.
